Suburban Jungle

Suburban Jungle is a watercolor and gouache series that blends the untamed beauty of wildlife with the cultivated world of houseplants. In these small-scale works on 11x14-inch paper, I depict animals I’ve personally observed in nature, placing them within the curated, often exotic environments of houseplants.

By reimagining these wild creatures in domestic green spaces, I create a playful yet thoughtful contrast between nature’s organic chaos and the controlled serenity of the plant world. This series celebrates the vibrancy of the natural world and invites reflection on the wildness that exists just beyond our everyday surroundings.
