Endangered Flora is a poignant series that highlights the threatened and endangered plant species native to North Carolina. Through a collection of watercolor and gouache paintings on cold-pressed watercolor paper, I aim to capture the delicate beauty of these often-overlooked plants.
The series includes five pieces in varying sizes, each carefully rendered to reflect the unique characteristics and fragile nature of these species. Endangered Flora is both a visual tribute and a quiet call to action—an effort to draw attention to the beautiful, imperiled flora that is rapidly disappearing from our landscapes.
With this work, I hope to foster a deeper appreciation for these rare plants, emphasizing their ecological importance and the urgent need for conservation. By bringing them into focus, I invite viewers to reflect on the broader impact of environmental change and the importance of preserving our natural heritage.
